By earthing a patch rack, electrical currents are diverted to the ground, preventing electrical shocks and potential damage. Earthing a patch rack is an essential part of setting up your network.
What Does Earth Mean?
Earthing means diverting electrical currents to the ground. If your patch rack or equipment is not earth, various voltage potentials can occur, discharging through the connected devices and causing damage. Therefore, it is advisable to ground your server rack and all connected devices. This ensures that accumulated voltages are discharged without causing damage, similar to a lightning rod.
Server Racks with Earth Set
Our server racks come standard with an earthing set. With this set, you can ground the side panels, front, and rear doors. Possible voltages then flow through the leveling feet of the server rack to the ground.
